Methodology
Last reviewed: 10/07/2026. This review aggregates publicly available information from manufacturer specifications, retailer listings, and verified user reviews. We do not perform hands-on testing. Every spec below comes from Vevor’s own product page for this kit (SKU LBPJ10LGFTJS4Y001V0), including the spec infographics in its photo gallery, plus the 13 customer reviews and the Q&A posted on that listing. Where Vevor’s own text contradicts itself, we say so rather than picking the flattering version. All source links are collected in the Sources section at the end.
Quick verdict
This is the “200 PSI” member of Vevor’s budget 4-trumpet family: a black 2.6-gallon (10 L) steel tank, an oil-less 12V compressor rated to 200 PSI, and a cluster of four chrome trumpets for $143.99 at Vevor’s store. That’s about $24 less than Vevor’s own 160 PSI 2.6-gallon kit, and the compressor comes with a braided hose, an air filter and an auto-reset thermal protector. The catches are typical of this price tier. The 150 dB figure has no test distance, the trumpet material is described two different ways on the same page, no warranty term is printed, and you still need to buy a 30 A relay. Our editorial rating: 3.5/5. It’s a good value if you want a big tank on a budget, as long as you treat the marketing numbers as marketing.
What it is
It’s a complete, compressor-fed air horn kit for 12V vehicles. You get the horn, the air supply and the plumbing. The kit has three main parts:
- A four-trumpet horn cluster. Four different-length chrome trumpets sit on a single manifold base. Vevor’s gallery puts the assembled cluster at 13.8 in (35.2 cm) tall.
- A 2.6-gallon (10 L) air tank. It’s black-painted steel with a pressure gauge, mounting feet and a drain fitting. The tank is the “BLACK” in the product title. The trumpets themselves are chrome.
- A 12V oil-less compressor. It’s rated at 200 PSI maximum working pressure and draws up to 23 A. Vevor’s infographic lists a stainless steel braided leader hose, an air filter and an automatic-reset overload protector.
A factory pressure switch turns the compressor on at 110 PSI and off at 160 PSI. So even though the box says “200 PSI,” the tank holds 110–160 PSI in normal use. The 200 PSI number is the compressor’s ceiling, which leaves headroom so the pump isn’t working at its limit. It’s not the pressure your horns will see.
Vevor’s listing says the kit fits cars, trucks, vans, SUVs, tractors, boats and motorcycles. In practice, a 20.6-inch tank plus a 12-inch compressor needs real mounting space. Pickup beds, under-bed frame rails and toolboxes are the natural homes for it. For how this kit fits into Vevor’s wider lineup, see our Vevor brand hub.

A few gaps matter here. Vevor publishes no fill time or duty cycle for the compressor. Without those, you can’t estimate how long a 2.6-gallon refill takes from 110 to 160 PSI. There’s also no shipping weight. Our compressor duty cycle explainer covers why those two numbers matter more than peak PSI.
What’s in the box
Vevor’s printed package list is short. The gallery’s “Easy to Install” panel shows a few more items. Combined, the kit includes:
- Four-trumpet horn set on a common base
- 2.6-gallon (10 L) air tank with gauge, plus the 200 PSI compressor (listed together as “10L Air Compressor”)
- 6.56 ft (2 m) air hose. Vevor says this is about 1 m longer than similar kits.
- ”Controller” (the gallery shows a horn button and an in-line fuse)
- 4 screw sets and mounting hardware
- Thread-sealing tape

Not in the box: a relay. When a buyer asked in the listing’s Q&A whether they needed to buy one, Vevor answered that the kit “requires a relay with a voltage of 12v and a current of 30A.” Budget for a 30 A automotive relay, wire and terminals. Our train horn relay wiring guide walks through the circuit.
Pros
- Big 2.6-gallon (10 L) tank for $143.99, about $24 less than Vevor’s 160 PSI 2.6-gallon kit
- Compressor rated to 200 PSI but cut off at 160 PSI, so it isn’t run at its maximum
- Factory 110/160 PSI pressure switch, 30 A fuse and auto-reset thermal protector are already there
- Braided leader hose and air filter on the compressor
- Longer-than-usual 6.56 ft air line makes it easier to separate the tank and the horns
- Owner feedback is positive (4.77/5 from 13 reviews), including one report of 2+ years of service
Cons
- 150 dB claim has no test distance or measurement method
- Trumpet material is contradictory: “stainless steel” in the title, “carbon steel and zinc chrome finish” in the gallery
- No warranty length printed on the product page, only 30-day returns and paid add-on plans
- 30 A relay not included, despite Vevor saying one is required
- The gallery calls the compressor “waterproof,” but Vevor’s own Q&A says it must be kept dry
- No published weight, chord frequencies, duty cycle or fill time
Alternatives
- Vevor 4-Trumpet Kit, 2.6-gal 160 PSI: same tank size and the same 110/160 PSI switch. It has a published 280 W HS-1000A compressor, a 20.3 lb weight and full dimensions, but zinc-alloy trumpets and a $167.90 price. Pick it if you value a complete spec sheet over the $24 savings.
- Vevor 4-Trumpet Kit, 1.6-gal 150 PSI: a smaller 6 L tank and a 150 PSI compressor for $125.99 at Vevor’s store. It suits buyers with tighter mounting space who accept fewer blasts per tank.
- Vevor 3-Trumpet Dual 200 PSI 5-Gal Kit: Vevor’s big-air option, with two 200 PSI compressors and a 5-gallon tank. It costs much more and needs much more room, but it’s the choice for long sustained blasts.

Install / compatibility notes
- Pick a dry location. Vevor’s Q&A answers say the tank and compressor can’t go outside the vehicle in the weather and “won’t last long” if they get wet. Mount them inside a toolbox, cab or enclosed bed box, and keep them away from exhaust and other hot parts. One owner on vevor.com keeps theirs in a plastic tote in the truck bed and reports 2+ years of trouble-free use.
- Plan the electrical side. The compressor draws up to 23 A. Run a fused feed from the battery and add a 12V 30 A relay, as Vevor’s Q&A specifies. The kit’s 30 A fuse at the mounting leg protects the pump itself.
- Check fittings before trusting the seals. One vevor.com reviewer replaced all the air fittings and line with higher-quality parts. Use the included sealing tape on every threaded joint and leak-test with soapy water once the tank reaches 160 PSI.
- Pre-fit the compressor bolts. Another owner reports that the compressor mounting uses Phillips bolts with nuts, and two of them are hard to reach with a screwdriver once the compressor is in place. Mock up the mounting on the bench first.
- Route the air line. The 6.56 ft hose lets you mount the horns at the front of the vehicle and the tank further back. Vevor’s Q&A says you can lengthen it with your own line if needed.

Before you mount anything, measure your space against the gallery dimensions: a 20.6 × 7.3 in tank and a 13.8 in tall trumpet cluster. See our air tank size guide for how 2.6 gallons compares with other setups, our pressure switch explainer for what the 110/160 PSI setting means, and how to install a train horn for the full process. On public roads, check your state’s rules on non-standard horns before use.
On the 150 dB claim, HornBlasters’ explainer on misleading decibel ratings points out that a dB number without a stated distance can’t be compared across brands, and that competing horns often measure lower than advertised. Read our advertised vs real dB guide before you compare this kit’s number with distance-rated horns.

A good-value way to get a 2.6-gallon tank and a 200 PSI-rated compressor for under $150. It suits budget truck owners who will mount it somewhere dry, add their own 30 A relay and treat the 150 dB claim as marketing.
Frequently asked questions
Quick answers to the questions people ask most about this topic.
- How loud is the Vevor 10L 200 PSI kit really?
- Vevor rates it at 150 dB but doesn't disclose a test distance or method, so treat that as a manufacturer claim. Owners on vevor.com describe it as very loud, but there's no independent meter reading to compare against distance-rated horns.
- Does the horn actually run at 200 PSI?
- No. 200 PSI is the compressor's maximum working pressure. The factory pressure switch turns the pump on at 110 PSI and off at 160 PSI, so the tank and horns operate between 110 and 160 PSI.
- Do I need to buy a relay?
- Yes. In the listing's Q&A, Vevor states the kit requires a 12V, 30 A relay. The compressor draws up to 23 A, so it shouldn't be switched directly through a light-duty switch.
- Can I mount the tank and compressor outside or under the truck?
- Vevor's Q&A answers say the tank and compressor can't be exposed to weather and need a dry location away from high-temperature parts. A toolbox, enclosed bed box or the cab is the safer choice, even though one gallery panel calls the compressor waterproof.
- How is this different from Vevor's 160 PSI 2.6-gallon kit?
- Both have a 2.6-gallon (10 L) tank and a 110/160 PSI switch. This version lists a 200 PSI compressor and sells for $143.99 vs $167.90, but Vevor publishes less detail for it: no compressor wattage, weight or full dimension sheet.
